Nasie Constantino Wins BASF Science Competition

Nasie Constantino is a post-doctoral student working in the Dean Group in Plant Pathology and collaborates with the Parsons Group. She and her team of Marzana Mantasha Mahmud and Chunkyun Seok were selected as the winners of the 2018 BASF Science Competition! This competition includes all of the United States and Canada, and asks researchers to form a team and come up with a creative solution to a global problem. This years topic was “What technologies can be used for rapid and quantitative identification of plant responses to biotic stress?” Each team submits a proposal, and the top five teams are selected as finalists, where they pitch their proposals to a judging panel of BASF executives. The proposals are judged on the novelty, scientific merit, business merit, and technical feasibility of the idea. Read more about the competition here.

It is a tremendous achievement for their proposal to be selected by the BASF executives. Congratulations Nasie and team! Keep up the great work!
