NanoDays 2016 took NC State’s Centennial Campus by storm, with hundreds of students eager to learn more about science and engineering. The Parsons group had some fun and interesting tabletop science demonstrations for middle and high school students (who came from all over the Triangle area). James used a lemon battery and some tungsten coated fibers to power a small LED while Eric and Wenyi demonstrated how nanocoatings on various surfaces can lead to very interesting material properties and new functionalities
